I. Eligible Applicants

The program is open to full-time undergraduate and master’s degree students from Belt and Road Initiative countries such as Thailand, Bangladesh, Mongolia, Vietnam, Laos, Morocco, Ethiopia, Zambia, etc.

II. Programs Offered

Undergraduate Program: Transportation Engineering (taught in Chinese)

Master’s Program: Road and Railway Engineering (taught in English)

III. Scholarship Coverage and Standards

The scholarship covers tuition fees, accommodation fees, living allowance, and comprehensive medical insurance.

IV. Basic Application Requirements

1.Applicants must be non-Chinese citizens.

2.Applicants must be physically and mentally healthy, and possess good conduct and academic performance.

3.Academic and age requirements:

For undergraduate applicants: Must hold a high school diploma and be under 25 years of age.

For master’s degree applicants: Must hold a bachelor’s degree and be under 35 years of age.

Applicants under the age of 18 must submit a notarized letter of guardianship in China.

4.Language proficiency requirements:

Program Language Requirements

Undergraduate: Transportation Engineering (Chinese-taught) Generally, HSK Level 3 or above. Those who have not achieved 180 points or above in HSK Level 4 must undertake one year of preparatory study after enrollment.

Master’s: Road and Railway Engineering (English-taught) TOEFL score of 68 or above, IELTS score of 5.5 or above, or Duolingo score of 85 or above.

Applicants from English-speaking countries or those whose previous degree programs were taught in English are exempt from providing English proficiency certificates.

V. Application Procedures

1.Submission of Application:

Log in to the Changsha University of Science and Technology International Student Application Platform:

https://csust.17gz.org/member/login.do,

create a personal account and upload the following required materials:

(1)A valid ordinary passport (valid for more than one year; applicants in China must also submit a valid residence permit page).

(2)Notarized highest academic degree certificate (scanned original and translation).

If the applicant is currently a student, a Certificate of Enrollment issued by the school specifying the expected graduation date must be submitted.

Certificates obtained overseas must be notarized; certificates obtained within China require only a scanned copy.

(3)Scanned copies of transcripts from the previous academic stage and their translations.

(4)Study and Research Plan for master’s applicants (at least 1,000 words), including: Introduction, Research Questions, Literature Review, Research Methods, Expected Conclusions, and References.

(5)Two academic recommendation letters from professors or associate professors for master’s applicants (written in Chinese or English).

(6)Foreigner Physical Examination Form (fully completed and valid within 6 months) (Blank form attached as Annex ).

(7)Valid Certificate of No Criminal Record issued by the local public security authority (normally within 6 months prior to the application submission date).

(8)Language proficiency certificates:

Chinese-taught programs: HSK certificate.

English-taught programs: TOEFL, IELTS, or Duolingo certificates (Exemptions apply as noted above).

(9)Academic achievements, cultural and sports competition certificates (if available).

2.Material Review:

After receiving the application, the university will review the materials. Applicants whose materials meet the requirements will pass the preliminary review.

Applicants must pay a non-refundable application fee of 500 RMB, regardless of admission results.

3.Academic Review:

Applicants who pass the preliminary review will undergo an academic evaluation.

4.Entrance Assessment:

Applicants who pass the academic evaluation will take an entrance examination covering language skills and basic academic abilities.

5.CSC Online Application:

Applicants who pass the university’s preliminary review and entrance examination and receive a pre-admission notice must log in to the Chinese Government Scholarship Information System:

http://www.campuschina.org, register an account, and submit an online application by the specified deadline.

VII. Important Notes

1.Applicants must accurately fill in their contact email address, phone number, and mailing address, and respond promptly to communications from the university during the application process.

2.Once admitted, students are not allowed to change their major or the language of instruction.

3.Students must carry the original Foreigner Physical Examination Form and blood test report when registering at the university.
